Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values:
honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Creates a positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Duties:
1.
Provide direct leadership of program.
2.
Records attendance.
3.
Supervises entire program and has knowledge of each group's whereabouts.
May take over supervision roles of a specific group at any given time.
4.
Plans, implements, and follows program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
8.
Completes accident/incident reports as necessary.
9.
Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff.
Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
10.
Reinforce children's actions in a positive manner to promote safety and health self-images.
11.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with campers and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
12.
Works in cooperation with other staff as a member of the YMCA team.
13.
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
14.
Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
Qualifications:
1.
Minimum 18 years of age.
2.
Experience working with children.
3.
Certifications:
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid.
4.
Completion of required trainings.
5.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1.
Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
2.
Able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs.
3.
Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
