Our client in Delaware County is looking for an Accounting Assistant. -Salary will be based on experience- Primary responsibility of the accounting assistant will be correcting, processing and reconciling a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices, departmental billings, employee reimbursements, cash receipts, vendor statements, and journal vouchers; review and code financial information; prepare and process documents to disburse funds, make deposits and prepare reports; compile and review information for accuracy; and maintain records. Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and/or automated accounting systems. The Accounting Assistant is part of the accounting team to facilitate completion of financial objectives established by the CFO.
Requirements: B.S Degree in Accounting. General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a must.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
