Medical Assistant/ Medical Receptionist (Float Pool)
This position requires traveling between all CKHN Practices, which includes Primary Care, Women's Health, Specialty and Surgical Practices and working at least one evening per week. We have Full -Time, Part -Time and PRN positions available. Premium Rates apply for all positions. Full-Time and Part-Time are benefit eligible .The Medical Assistant will be expected to provide excellent customer service and high quality care to any and all patients seen and treated within the practice.
The Medical Assistant provides administrative support to Provider Practice group and serves as liaison between patient and clinical staff. Greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients. Performs duties in support of the Crozer-Keystone mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner. This position serves all age populations.
Experience: Previous physician practice experience preferred. Previous healthcare insurance billing experience preferred. This individual must be a highly organized self-starter with knowledge of medical insurance and have computer experience.
High School Diploma or equivalency
Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program
Traveling between multiple office locations
Valid Driver's licenses and reliable transportation
Current CPR certification required
Registration, Licensure and/or Certification: Medical Assistant Certificate or registration preferred.
An ideal candidate would possess the following:
Demonstrated customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong insurance knowledge base
Demonstrated knowledge of medical and coding terminology
Knowledge of Practice Management / Electronic Medical Record Systems, preferably with Medic / Centricity
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of ICD-10 preferred
Knowledge of Autoclaving and EKGs preferred
Knowledge of Primary Care and Specialty Practice workflows
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Preparing patients for examination
Taking / recording accurate vital signs and medical histories
Lab requisition and specimen preparation
Phlebotomy / vaccine administration
Assisting the Care Team in patient pre-visit preparations
Assisting patients with scheduling tests and referrals
Ordering and maintaining medical supplies
Patient / phone triage
Insurance pre-certifications and referrals
Patient check-in / check-out
Appointment scheduling
Answering telephones
Scanning documents into EMR per practice process

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
