The Recovery Center is seeking a full time LPN to work in a multifaceted position implementing the Al's Pals program, working in the Methadone department providing medication dispensing as well as providing comprehensive medical care for clients with Substance Use Disorders part time in the Center of Excellence.
Description:
Create a safe, nurturing atmosphere where children can play, learn and grow.
Communicate with parents regarding program activities, daily updates and concerns.
Collaborate with Recovery Center staff and leadership to achieve goals around engagement and facilitation of Al's Pal's program.
Foster positive relationships with families and treatment team members.
Serve as a resource/contact for other healthcare providers who need assistance in connecting clients for evaluation and treatment of opioid use disorders.
Coordinate with care management staff to provide timely service for referrals that require a warm hand off to or from other healthcare providers (both inpatient and outpatient). Facilitate ongoing communication with the client's primary care physician and specialists. In complicated situations will communicate directly with physical health providers as needed, may need to attend appointments as client allows.
Will participate in specific education programs both in group and individual format that discuss the impact of opiate use, including but not limited to child bearing age issues, overdose prevention, relapse strategies, opioid diversion strategies, prevention of infectious diseases associated with opioid use and impact on mental health symptoms.
Assist in monitoring clients medication history by accessing data in the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program
Provide individual education to clients and/or family members as needed with the goal to understand the role of healthy lifestyles in disease prevention.
Monitor client's participation in preventative health screenings appropriate to their age and gender. Will work with care managers to assist efforts to keep preventative care activities up to date.
Will develop and maintain general health and wellness education materials.
Conduct vital sign screenings as needed for client population.
Assist in monitoring changes in health status and adherence to medical regimens.
Encourage clients to take an active role in the management of their physical health needs and preventative strategies
Will counsel clients/families regarding physical and behavioral health issues and the impact on quality of life.
Provide safe and efficient dispensing of Methadone as needed to clients, consistent with clinic procedures
Administer and monitor TB testing
Obtain urine drug screens
Required Skills and
Experience:
A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
Minimum of 5 years' experience working with young children, particularly ages 3-5 years old.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working with infants and babies also strongly desired
Knowledgeable of substance use disorder and willingness to continue education in this field
Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic learning and play environment
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized and capable of managing individualized paperwork
Trained in the Al's Pals program or willingness to take training
Must meet state specific guidelines for the role including: Child abuse clearances, FBI fingerprinting and background check.
Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency
Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
Graduate of an accredited school
Current PA license
CPR certified
Experience in behavioral health and substance abuse setting strongly desire
