Quality Performance Coordinator

The Quality Performance Coordinator (QPC) is responsible for ensuring that the care provided to patients throughout the system is of the highest quality by supporting the achievement of the CKHS Quality and Safety Goals, maintaining high performance on national and regional validated quality metrics, and monitoring the performance of the medical staff through Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE).
The QPC must have a strong background in healthcare quality, public reporting initiatives, team-building skills, data analysis, and performance improvement. Experience in educating and problem solving is a must. Most importantly, the QPC must be able to think critically, identify problems and barriers and work cooperatively to develop and implement solutions with departments throughout CKHS. Analytical and critical thinking, strong communication skills and the ability to foster communication and teamwork are essential to the position.
The QPC will monitor and analyze monthly quality performance, identify and communicate opportunities for improvement and use appropriate strategies, including education, to increase awareness and promote high quality care that provides value to the patient. The QPC plays a key role in promoting a culture of quality, safety and patient centered care.
Monitor and Analyze Metrics including:
o Process Measures
o Outcome Measures
o Patient Experience of Care (PEC)
o Miscellaneous publically reported measures
o Other CKHS Annual Quality/Patient Safety Goals
Review and analyze monthly Quality/Safety Goals Reports (QSR)
Identify opportunities for improvement and/or early signs of declining performance and communicate these to the CQO/designee and AVP Quality Performance and Quality Improvement (AVP QPI) in a timely fashion
Supports and facilitates the Hospital Services Quality Committee (HSC) on a monthly basis.
Trains and Coaches the Hospital department and clinical leaders in the development of their Departmental Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Plans (QAPI)
Assists the Senior Clinical Leaders and Hospital Presidents in reviewing, monitoring, and approving the HSC QAPI plans
Conduct unit/departmental audits to support quality/safety performance and goals and ensure that Quality Action Plans are in place
Coordinate and ensure that unit/departmental quality/safety audits are completed and reported on time
Education and Training:
Bachelors of Science RN required
Completed MSN or enrolled in a current program of study preferred
Experience and Knowledge:
Five years related clinical experience with some experience in critical care preferred
3 years of experience in Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance or Patient Safety
Education and/or Teaching Experience
Familiarity with Hospital Compare Database
Familiarity with CMS reported Measures and Value Based Purchasing
Registration, Licensure and/or Certification:
Valid RN license

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
