Director Facilities and Capital Projects

Bachelors degree is required
Directs the personnel, operational and fiscal activities of all physical plant facilities and systems and utility management. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all areas of responsibility. Performs duties in support of the Medical Center mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
Ensures the proper design functioning of the Medical Centers heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, electric power, water, sanitation, communication, elevators, oxygen, vacuum gas and power systems, etc. as evidenced by the utility service to the Medical Center
Evaluates, plans and recommends alternations of the plant and equipment including structural changes, modifications and additions to existing facilities, ensuring compliance with life safety codes and applicable building codes
Participates in planning and coordination of new construction/renovation projects with user groups and outside consultants
Coordinates and oversees activities of contractors and other individuals engaged by the Medical Center to modify, repair or expand its physical facilities and ensure or expand its physical faculties, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications
Confers with a variety of Federal State, Local and other regulatory and inspecting authorities on matters pertaining to codes for physical plant, fire safety, elevators, boilers etc.; and ensures compliance with the same
Ensures expedient and satisfactory response to work orders and work requests from patients, visitors and staff as evidenced by compliance with performance standards
Ensures staff is knowledgeable and competent to perform duties by providing, coordinating, and overseeing orientation, training, and continuing education as reflected in departmental policies and records
Prepares goals and objectives for department/ area based on Medical Center mission and values, plan for delivery of care and scope of services and communicates such to staff. Assesses departmental/area progress on an ongoing basis as evidenced by QA reports and performance standards
Manages and assesses systems and services to ensure appropriateness and integration and coordination with other areas
Directs quality improvement process through managing and accessing systems to improve performance and to identify needs
Education and Training
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, civic, or industrial engineering required. Construction experience preferred.
Experience and Knowledge
7+ years' management experience in hospital engineering and maintenance required.
Registration, Licensure and/or Certification
Professional engineers license desirable
Driver's License

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
