Medical Receptionist

Facility:Crozer-Keystone Health NetworkDepartment:Gastroenterology AssociatesSpringfield,PAAdministrative/ClericalFull-time,Day Shift,8a to 4:30p M-FReq #28146The Medical Receptionist position performs all the registration functions as outlined below:
A Medical Receptionist in the Crozer-Keystone Gastroenterology Associates Phone Unit will assist in the completion and coordination of activities associated with patient calls, appointment scheduling, provider and professional calls, and patient registration, including demographics collection & confirmation for Crozer-Keystone Gastroenterology Associates patients.
Prioritizes and coordinates patient calls and completes and/or routes calls to providers, MA s, and/or Administration as appropriate, with accurate and detailed phone note documentation.
Accurately completes patient registrations based on departmental protocols, policies and procedures, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
Ensures all insurance demographic information is collected accurately. Ensures all uninsured or underinsured patients are referred to a CKHS financial counselor for the state medical assistance program as well as The CKHS Financial Assistance Program and Self Pay Discount Policy.
Assists patients/guarantors/families with insurance questions in a professional manner. Escalates any unaddressed insurance benefit concerns to the appropriate staff members and/or Practice Managers.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information, employee information, and other information covered by regulations or professional ethics.
Performs duties in support of the CKHN mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
Age range of patient population served: Adult and Geriatric
The Medical Receptionist in the Crozer-Keystone Gastroenterology Phone Unit will demonstrate basic level Microsoft Outlook & Word experience, and perform the following functions:
Work in existing software to create phone note documentation to be forwarded to providers, MA s, and/or administrative staff.
Scheduling of appointments and procedures for new and existing patients.
Collecting complete and accurate patient, insurance, and other required demographic data for new patients, as well as confirming existing information for return and internal referral patients.
Verifies the COB of insurance
Assesses the need for referrals and/or authorizations for services and coordinates for them to be obtained from the appropriate provider / insurance.
Phone Unit Medical Receptionist 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
